GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)--Food for the dogs, hay for the rabbits and a raisin for the chinchilla? "You have a chinchilla that lives here," says Larissa Rignall. And these aren't' even her own pets. She's just taking care of them. "It's a business but it's also a friendship," says Rignall.

Rignall runs 'LEAVE IT! to Larissa' a professional home and ranch sitting service. She says,"First of all we customize to each home and each pet." Starting nine years ago Rignall watches homes for people out of town for a couple days or a couple months. "Checking the hot water heater the furnace, being sure there is no water leaks, being sure the coffee pot wasn't left on, which is a very common thing, I'm guilty myself," she says.

LEAVE IT! to Larissa especially focuses on home with pets, pets of all shapes ages and needs.
Rignall says, "I'm not a huge reptile personally but I really enjoy taking care of them and I learn a lot from them." And while finding out which gate the teenagers left open overnight is part of the job, Rignall also takes care of the unexpected emergencies. "Our hope is that everything is the same if not better when folks come home," she says.

Rignall basically treats every house and pet just like her own. That's why she started the business. Rignall says, "I myself own horses and dogs and cats and goats and chickens and we couldn't leave town."

Probably the most important thing LEAVE IT! to Larissa offers is piece of mind. "Trust is the biggest thing from the animals and the people," says Rignall. And that’s something that should leave any home owner with something to smile about.

LEAVE IT! to Larissa is insured and bonded. It's also a member of the National Association of Pet Sitters.
