GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Tan In Paradise recently unveiled a new, $30,000 bed that actually has nothing to do with tanning.
The store's owner, Scott Young, says the red light treatment is used to rejuvenate the skin, revitalizing cells into the nucleus. Young says the Spectrum 633 Nanometer light has been used by dermatologists and cosmetic surgeons for years to heal the skin in many ways.
"It helps with scars. It helps with acne. It helps with skin rejuvenation, wrinkles. The main thing is it improves collagen and elasticity, and cell health in the skin," says Young.
The full body red light therapy works in a process, little by little, so multiple sessions are needed. There is absolutely no UV light or tanning involved. A treatment package will run you about $100 per month.
