GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Good news for local businesses as County Commissioners vote to cut a property tax.
During their meeting Monday morning, Mesa County’s Commissioners chose to cut the county’s share of business personal property tax by about $500,000.
They say this means they’ll be refunding businesses next year a portion of what they paid this year.
The Business Personal Property Tax is on personal property used in businesses and similar organizations.
It’s part of the County’s Open For Business initiative which launched a year ago and aims to build up the local economy through measures that encourage development and business growth.
