More businesses on Main Street are going out of business.

Katie Worrall with Bray Real Estate says, "kind of typical of everything going on in town. There are some more vacancies; there are some holes here and there."

Standing in front of what used to be Leaps and Bounds, it easy to see that several years ago you'd be hard pressed to find any vacancies downtown, now it's just a simple stroll across the street.

Heidi Hoffman Ham with the Downtown Economic Partnership says, "Certainly a couple more than we had this time last year." Ham says it's hard to track what businesses are coming and going, but she's noticed a big change; spaces staying empty longer.

Ham says, "Right now in the market that we have it's a matter of finding the right match."
Currently five stores sit empty on Main Street. But some experts say that's not too bad. Ham says, "I think historically we're still looking pretty good."

Already this year two new business have traded the closed sign for one a little more inviting. The open sign. "Business has been great so far getting better and steadily growing," says Evan Williamson of Evan Downtown Deli.
Williamson says they are close to 100 percent ready, "getting everything set up so that you can come in and order anything you want whatever meat and cheese we carry."

And you can now find gumbo at 4Th and Colorado. A good sign says Ham. "You know downtown is just like any other shopping area, they tend to have stores that rotate in and rotate out."
