GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Some local businesses say the Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce Blue Band Wagon campaign isn't having much success.
The campaign was rolled out to remind people to buy local. If you wear one of the blue bracelets at a participating business, you can get a discount.
Missy Smith, owner of Main Street Bagels, says if you take a look around her cafe, not one customer is wearing a blue bracelet. She says since they started the campaign a few months ago, she doubts they've even given 100 discounts out.
"I just think it's not what we have hoped," says Smith.
Smith hopes more people jump on the Blue Band Wagon and become aware of the local discounts that are available since supporting local businesses is important to keeping businesses like hers up and running.
