GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – The Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce says in 12 months, 10 businesses created 146 new local jobs.
In addition to jobs, those businesses also made capital investments of more than $19 million.
Tuesday, the Chamber honored those businesses during its quarterly membership meeting. Hospice and Palliative Care was among those recognized. The non-profit added 77 new jobs in the past year.
A spokesperson says the positions were needed because of an increase in the number of patients and families the organization takes care of and because they’re transitioning to electronic medical records which has to be done by 2012.
