The newest resident of a Tokyo Zoo was shown off for the first time Friday.

A Snow Leopard cub name Yukichi, after the founders of Japan, made his debut in front of a crowd of adoring fans and reporters.

According to the cub’s caretaker, Yukichi is at his cutest right now while his eyes are still baby blue.

The cub’s eyes will begin to turn yellow in about four months.

Because their natural habitat is in cold weather, Snow Leopards have stocky bodies and short legs to minimize head loss.

Their feet are also set wide apart to evenly distribute body weight, making it easier for the cats to walk on ice and snow.
