Striking writers and film producers announced they will conduct informal discussions today in an attempt to resume formal negotiations.

In what the Writers Guild of America called a demonstration of "commitment to bringing a speedy conclusion to negotiations" they withdrew their proposals regarding reality and animation.

The writers and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers have agreed to a news blackout during the discussions.
