Congress received 250 pages of electronic messages that were retrieved from the personal e-mail accounts of officials in Vice President Dick Cheney's office, but whether that amounted to all the relevant e-mail needed for the investigation into the CIA leak probe remains to be seen. (AP)

Baghdad (AP) Just days before the fifth anniversary of the start of the war in Iraq, Cheney is declaring that Iraqis are heading down a “difficult but historic route to democracy.”

Cheney is in Iraq today for talks with U.S. and Iraqi officials and to speak to troops.

It's Cheney's third vice presidential trip to Iraq, where 160,000 american troops are deployed and where almost 4,000 Americans have died.

Cheney says the Iraqis have made legislative advances vital to the country's future. He also says there has been a dramatic improvement in security.

The war started five years ago this week.
