As gas prices continue to rise, the number of Americans hitting the road continues to fall.

According to the Federal Highway Administration, Americans drove 11 billion fewer miles in march of 2008 than they did in march of 2007.

Officials have seen the downward trend in driving every month since November of last year.

One result of the reduced driving is less pollution, greenhouse gas emissions fell by approximately nine million metric tons for the first quarter of 2008.
