The Grand Junction Police Department found the body of an elderly woman on North 26th St., and a friend confirms it is that of the missing 81-year-old Afton Worley.

Earlier today, the Grand Junction Police Department asked for the public's help in locating the 81 year old Grand Junction woman who last seen at her residence 2236 North 17th Street on August 30th.

Worley suffered from dementia and was reported missing September 2nd when her front door was open she could not be found at home or in her neighborhood.

We are still waiting for the Coroner to issue a report which should be released in the coming days.
