Police: Stabbing Suspect Facing Attempted 1st Degree Murder Charge
A 14-year-old boy accused of slashing a Montrose High School student's neck is facing Attempted 1st Degree Murder charges according to the Montrose Police Department's daily reports.

A 14-year-old boy accused of slashing a Montrose High School student's neck is facing Attempted 1st Degree Murder charges according to the Montrose Police Department's daily reports.

The young suspect's identity has not been released yet. Police say the teen walked into Montrose High School Tuesday and stabbed a student in the neck in a crowded hallway. 11 News has learned the victim is Mallory Haulman.

The 14-year-old suspect was arrested shortly after the stabbing in the 600 Block of S. Selig Avenue.

Haulman is recovery at Montrose Memorial Hospital and is listed in "fair" condition.

The 17-year-old victim is the daughter of Montrose Daily Press Production Manager Denny Haulman and ICU Nurse Alicia Haulman.

Friends tell 11 News that Haulman plays softball for Montrose High and is a good and quiet student.
