The man who fell 120 feet in his van down a cliff on the Colorado National Monument has been arrested for molesting a young girl.
Officials say 34-year-old Daniel Lyons was arrested on a warrant issued for sexual assault on a child.
The young victim's mother tells 11 News that Lyons was trying to commit suicide when his van plunged off the monument. She says the monument incident happened just hours after he was interviewed by deputies about the case.
According to an arrest affidavit, Lyons admitted to performing sexual acts on the young victim.
Lyons has been released from the hospital and is being held at the Mesa County Jail. His bond has not been set.
