City officials say a three block section of Downtown Grand Junction could soon be getting a facelift.
Wednesday night, the City Council will vote on whether to award a contract to a consulting firm who would draw up plans to redevelop the area near 5th Street and Grand Avenue.
That area includes the Mesa County Library, The Assembly of God Church, the Senior Recreation Center, and the Gray Gourmet offices.
Officials say they believe there are opportunities to combine uses of those buildings and to build new things like living space in the area.
If approved, city officials say the planning process will take six to nine months.
