MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KKCO)_Two men are facing felony drug charges after police say they caught them with four pounds of meth.
Twenty-five-year-old Luis Leal-Lopez and 20-year-old Abdon Sarmiento-Lopez’s were arrested on Interstate-70 Wednesday.
The Western Colorado Drug Task Force was working along I-70 when they noticed a car speeding and following too close. Officers pulled the car over and asked if they could search it. The men said yes.
A K-9 officer alerted the task force to a secret compartment under the car where four pounds of meth and a package of cocaine was hiding.
Both men are being held at the Mesa County Jail. They are considered special offenders and have holds on them that prevent them from bonding out at this time.
