Lakewood, Colo. (AP) Democratic party officials say Lakewood might be able to capitalize on this summer's national convention by running a shuttle to Denver, where 35,000 delegates and journalists will gather.
The discussion Monday on how the Denver suburb could benefit from the convention is part of a series of community forums the Democratic National Convention Committee is hosting ahead of the August 25th to August 28th event.
Democratic and Denver officials have estimated a $160 million economic boon to the region from the convention.
Congressman Ed Perlmutter also says it is important for the Hyatt Denver convention Center hotel to finalize a labor contract. The Hyatt would be the only union hotel in Denver.
