Marine Corps Reserve make final push in Toys For Tots collection

The Marine Corps Reserve has been collecting new, unwrapped toys over the last few months. Saturday, members of Marine Corps Reserve made a final push in collection before they are distributed next week.

A group of community members braved the cold as they stood outside Saturday collecting coats, hats, and winter gear. Many of the people collecting are part of the 3% United Patriots group. The National organization supports veterans and those currently serving.

It’s a day many kids look forward to all year, running down the stairs and seeing what gifts Santa has left. For others, the gift for them is to be able to recover, and spend the holidays at home, not in the hospital.

The creation of a world-class biking trail is moving forward in Palisade. The town has been granted $90,000 from Great Outdoors Colorado to begin planning the Palisade Plunge Trail.
