Switching from textbooks to online resources
Textbooks are a thing of the past for many teachers in District 51. Many are handing out homework assignments online.
Grand Junction High School Senior, Jordin Early, said she's lucky to have access to a computer at home since many of her classmates don't.
Early said, "They ask us to go to the sharepoint site and print off papers and get the questions off of there, but it kinda make its a little bit confusing to be able to find everything."
The Colorado Deparmtment of Education decides what should be taught, but districts pick how they want to teach it. Officials said teachers are there to help when students don't have access to a computer. District 51 officials said opting for online resources is cheaper than purchasing brand new textbooks for all new material.
