Colorado to test new immigration rules

DENVER (AP) -- Immigrant rights groups are planning to outline the Obama Administration's new deportation policy.

The six-week pilot project in Denver is part of a policy change announced in June by Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.

The new policy being outlined Thursday would allow illegal immigrants facing deportation who have no criminal record and meet certain criteria to be classified as low priority for immigration enforcement and have their cases closed.

Well, he did say he was going to fundamentally change America. How’s that change working out for you so far, America? Don’t vote for the incumbent. Don’t vote for either party’s anointed candidates. And Don’t vote for the career politician. Our Constitution is not a suicide pact. You only possess the country and they rights that you are prepared to defend. If you know nothing else, know that. It is the law of nature. Ask a Native American about uncontrolled, illegal immigration. You can find one on almost any reservation, which are usually located on the poorest land. That’s the reality of what happens if you lose this war.

Well now that wet backs have free reign, I cant wait for civil war to break out. Real Americans have had enough.

Have you ever read the part in the Bible where God said to obey the laws? I tend to think God put lots of borders between right and wrong.

You have to earn your way into heaven, just like you should have to earn your way into the US. No free passes.

Apparently this person believes that the true path to righteousness is through spouting platitudes and admonishments. He/she leaves out the THOU SHALL NOT STEAL that the illegals violate just by crossing the borders. Or THOU SHALL NOT COVET by coveting the wealth and riches this nation provides for the LEGAL CITIZENS. ENVY is one of the '7 deadly sins', and if they didn't ENVY our life style, they wouldn't bother showing up begging for free everything.

I gladly treat LEGAL immigrants with all due respect and admire their hard work and willingness to integrate with American society, and learning the English language. And I do not call the illegals immigrants, they are ILLEGAL ALIENS. How hard is that to understand?

Amazing. You call us racists and you single out the white race for your denigration. Here’s a reality check for you. You are not in the kingdom of heaven. You’re in the USA where there are borders and where people that come here illegally to profit from what others have built are not immigrants. They are sneak thieves, illegal aliens and sometimes they are racists with an attitude who use religion and a fake victim status as a crutch for their earthbound agendas. You haven’t see anyone like that lately, have you; in a mirror or wherever?

Sorry to burst your bubble 'american' but ILLEGAL ALIENS come in all colors, creeds and religions. IF you are able to prove criminal activity is RACE BASED, then please feel free to do so. Currently the prison system seems to be occupied by all different races. Your claim of "racism" is false and your entire post is irrelevant due to your own personal ignorance of the FACTS surrounding the issue at hand. You have no value to this conversation.

LEGAL, LEGAL, LEGAL, LEGAL, LEGAL, LEGAL, LEGAL, LEGAL, LEGAL, LEGAL, LEGAL! The key word is LEGAL look it up! Repeat after me! LEGAL IMMIGRANT GOOD! ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT BAD! Is that simple enough?

Low priority criminals are still criminals. Selective enforcement of our current immigration laws is exactly why our country is full of low life, blood sucking, parasitic invaders. They are destroying our country and our culture. Enforce the laws we have now. Deport the illegal alien invaders. Free up some jobs. Less traffic. Less crowding in the schools. Less welfare to pay taxes on. Let the invaders take their anchor babies with them! It'll free up class rooms and teachers for American Students! I say, "To hell with the invaders, their worthless language, and their anchor babies!" J J

People who enter the country illegally are NOT criminals because crossing the border illegally is not a crime under U.S. law; it is an administrative violation. Yes, immigrants have broken the law, but their infraction is the legal equivalent of the "crime" anyone who has ever gotten a traffic ticket in their life has committed--if you don't think speeding is breaking the law, know that the ticket and the penalty you pay are a consequence of your having broken the law. To penalize the American citizen children of people who have gotten traffic tickets by separating them from their parents would be considered unjust by all Americans. Why is it unfair for people who have entered the country illegally to pay a penalty (like they would if they'd gotten a traffic ticket) to admit that they had done wrong without destroying their lives and the lives of their CITIZEN children in the process (when they do have children who are citizens just like you and me).

You're traffic ticket analogy would be right on if after paying your fine for speeding you were then allowed to drive as fast as you want for the rest of your life with no further punishment. And the anchor baby problem needs to be taken care of. Section 1 of the 14th Ammendment needs to go.

Actually Kris, crossing the border illegally is a crime under Federal law. There are other violations that are administrative violations such as overstaying a visa, but crossing the border illegally is a crime. You also have it wrong on traffic tickets. Traffic tickets in Colorado are legally the same as criminal violations, hence the requirement for proof beyond a reasonable doubt. Although the lower levels of traffic violation are not jailable offenses, they are nonetheless low-level criminal violation.

I'm waiting for the first defense attorney to question whether or not ALL laws are being enforced, of if laws are enforced on an "as desired" basis where the Citizens are more likely to be charged and PROSECUTED with crimes over ILLEGALS aliens because of political correctness.

As a Conservative Republican, I am looking strongly at a CITIZEN candidate by the name of Tisha Casida. She in an unaffiliated candidate who believes in the Constitution and WE the People. Check her out. www.Casida 2012.com She’s got my vote. And since she is unaffiliated, she doesn’t need the parties to get elected, just the votes of those of us who are tired of the same old thing in politics.

The only answer is the one by AP. Don't vote for the encumbent, don't vote for either party's anointed candidate, don't vote for the career politician, and don't donate to any political party, only to individual candidates who represent your best interest. Only "We The People" can clean up the mess the politicians and special interests have created. Join with others of like minds and throw the bums OUT.

Guarantee a second term for Obozo? Here it comes folks. The political parties imperative; vote for the guy we choose or the Democrats/Republicans will win. We’ll supply your choice. You have to vote the way we tell you because we have to beat the Dem/Repub. Well, how’s that imperative working out for you so far? Wasn’t it Repub/Dem that created this mess? The imperative commands you the voter to repeat the same actions with the expectation of a different outcome. That’s the imperative but it is also the definition of insanity. When someone offers you the lesser of two evils choice, just remember, they’re both evil. The political parties have proven to the American people that they can’t agree on what to have for lunch. And now once again we’re hearing; give us another chance. Sorry Charlie; we can’t afford any more do-overs. Don’t vote for the incumbent. Don’t vote for Either Party’s anointed candidates. Don’t vote for the career politician. Have we got your attention yet partisan political parties? Can you hear us now? Obviously not; but you will hear us in Nov.2012. Your imperative be darned.

All very good points but the truth is if you vote a third party you just as well vote Democrat. Dems are a loyal bunch who vote party line and not their values. Reps are more inclined to be independent minded and vote their values. This sounds noble and it is really. But in the end if you split the conservative vote you give the position to the Dems. The answer is for ALL conservatives, libertarians, and independents to vote for the most libertarian conservative in the primaries. The key is to put the most UNPOLITICAL candidate in the race. By doing this we do not have to split the vote and the political machine will begin to slowly move back to the right. Primaries are more important than people know. Once the die is cast for the parties presidential candidate you either have to vote with who came to the party or split the vote and give the presidency to the Dems. Ross Perot - 22 million votes we get 8 years of Clinton. Ron Paul takes his massive voting base off the table and we get Obama. A third party insures a Dem win whether you like it or not.

"Immigrant rights groups"? Is this about LEGAL immigrant Rights under law? Or about giving special 'rights' to criminals that should be in prison until their deportation hearing? The criminal element that is in this country ILLEGALLY have no "Rights" other than 'human rights' to not be stoned, kicked, beaten, blinded or used for medical experiments. They have a 'right' to food, but that can be limited to minimal nourishment just to sustain life until they are deported. Aiding and Abetting CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR is still a crime, and punishable under State and federal laws. IF these 'immigrant rights groups' are trying to protect ILLEGAL aliens from being held accountable, I would highly suggest the local LAW ENFORCEMENT agencies DO THEIR JOB and start arresting, not just the criminals, but those "AIDING AND ABETTING" those criminals.

YES, and I want some ACCOUNTABILITY! Apparently the expectation of one elected official(the DA), teaming up with another elected official (the sheriff)and getting charges filed is similar to watching rocks oxidize. Perhaps the solution lies closer to home and getting rid of the PROTECTIONIST BEHAVIOR of a couple of county employees? Or maybe a few dozen of them?

By definition; illegal immigration is uncontrolled immigration. If you would like to know the consequences of uncontrolled immigration, ask an American Indian. You know the US ‘kinder and gentler’ policy toward illegal immigration from Mexico but if you want to know what Mexico’s policy is toward illegal immigration from the US, visit the Alamo. And if you want to know what happens to a country that fails to stop illegal immigration, ask a Texan whether he’s a Mexican or US citizen and how his homeland changed ownership. Posted 11 25A

If you are an illegal alien, and you want to take your country back; here’s a hint. And while you’re at it, ask yourself this question; if there is no penalty for breaking laws, then is there in fact any law? And if there is no law, why are US citizens required to have a passport to enter their own country? And is it really a country if it has no borders and no laws? Or is it just considered a country for tax purposes? If you’re an illegal alien and you want Aztlan, DON’T FORGET to vote and vote often. Viva Aztlan. No revolution required. If you’re a US citizen and you want to KEEP your country here’s a hint; Don’t vote for the incumbent. Don’t vote for Either Party’s anointed candidate. Don’t vote for the career politician. No passport required. Use it or lose it.
