So this week we have only two new movies out, 'MacGruber' and 'Shrek Forever After.' Both are playing at the Carmike because the Regal is still busy raking in money for 'Ironman 2' and 'Robin Hood.'
'MacGruber' is based off of comedy skits on 'Saturday Night Live' related to MacGyver's slick style. The film features both main actors from the skit: Will Forte and Kristen Wiig. MacGruber is called on by the U.S. to go on a mission to stop a nuclear warhead from hitting Washington, D.C. It promises action, violence, language, and now introducing lots of sexual humor due to being off of live television. For a TV show skit-made-movie it should be fairly good. Small tidbit you might not know: Jorma Taccone directed the film. He is part of The Lonely Island with Andy Samberg who created 'I'm on a Boat' and other famous songs. 'MacGruber' is rated R.
'Shrek Forever After' is the fourth and "final" movie in the Shrek series. Shrek has his wish come true after he wishes he could go back to the days of just being a normal ogre. Of course this comes with many problems between his allies and foes but always leads to a good comedy adventure. Shrek still comes with all the new movie puns so it should be a little funnier to those who have seen a lot of new movies in the past year but shouldn't leave you in the dark if you havn't seen much. 'Shrek Forever After' is rated PG.
