Due Date Review

"Due Date's" due date is here!

Robert Downey Jr. (Ironman) and Zach Galifianakis (Hangover) are together in the new comedy "Due Date." Expectations were for "Hangover" lovers to watch this in theaters but unfortunately it didn't hit quite that high, but nonetheless - very funny.

Peter Highman (Jr.) is trying to fly home to see the birth of his first child. While talking to Ethan Tremblay (Galifianakis) on the plane, Peter gets his taste of bad luck which lands him and Ethan grounded and flightless. With his bags, wallet, and identity on the plane, Peter is left with no other choice than to hitch a ride with Ethan back to L.A.

The movie takes you through hilarious event after another as Peter tries his best not to strangle his new friend before he gets home. Jamie Foxx makes an appearance as Peter's best friend who tries to like Ethan but looks as though something is going on between him and Peter's wife. You watch as they go to the Grand Canyon, Mexico border, buy marijuana, get in a bad car wreck, and virtually everything horrible you can imagine on a road trip.

Both roles are well played and the plot is straight forward. I didn't like it as much as "Hangover" but it was still funny and great for laughs. These two actors are both in their prime and I hope they try another movie together in the near future. "Due Date" is rated R and is playing at the Regal.
