So I went to my first film of 2011 and I chose well.

"The Green Hornet" is finally out in theaters and raking in the money. After what felt like an eternity since seeing the first trailer like a year ago, it's in theaters and ready for you to watch in 2D or 3D. I had planned on watching the 3D version since they have been promoting it quite a bit but it was shot in 2D and post-converted so I watched in 2D because I have not liked the few movies I have seen post-produced in 3D.

The movie portrays Britt Reid (Seth Rogen) as a middle-aged man who has done nothing but party most of his life. His father dies from a bee sting at the beginning of the film and passes on his business, The Daily Sentinel, to his son. Britt decides to change his life around with the help of his trusty sidekick Kato (Jay Chou). They name themselves The Green Hornet and charge into the depths of the city to fight crime with a sweet car, guns, gas, flames, and a call card. Cameron Diaz plays as the secretary for Britt who tells them where she thinks The Green Hornet will strike next which for some reason, is always the exact things that happens.

The villain, Chudnofsky (Christoph Waltz), is a crime lord who wants to become more feared throughout the city and finds that fighting or teaming up with The Green Hornet is his next move.

The movie has a lot of action, good dialog, very funny hero/sidekick scenes but has a lot of language for a superhero movie. I could have done without a Seth Rogen swearing every two minutes.

Overall I loved the film. It was great seeing a comedian in a violent superhero movie and it made me happy I chose this film as the starter for 2011. The Green Hornet is playing at the Regal and is rated PG-13.
