No Country for Old Men and Things We Lost in the Fire

Well this weekend I had lots of stuff to work on around the house so I hit up the Ol' Red Box at Micky Dee's and came home with these two flicks. Now I heard a lot about one of them and nothing about the other.

We'll start off with the movie EVERYBODY has been talking about...No Country for Old Men. Wow what can I say the hasn't been said already. This is a great movie I really don't want to tell you to much because I really want every person I meet to watch this. Much like in Fargo the Coen Bros. have blurred the lines of genres, going from a western then an urban action the next scene. With all Coen Bros. movies there is a bit of exaggeration with cultures which leads to some humor. You have to watch this for yourself as soon as possible!!!! 5 out of 5 stars check it out on DVD.

Next is Things We Lost in the Fire stars Halle Berry and Benicio Del Toro in a story of loss and Redemption. Del Toro plays Jerry a recovering Heroin addict and Berry plays his best friends wife Audrey. Jerry's friend Brian (played by non other than David Duchovny) dies while stopping a man from beating his wife. This turn the life of Brian's family upside down. Jerry finds a sense of purpose after Brian's widow Audrey asks Jerry to move in. Through the course of the story Jerry finds a family and Audrey let's Jerry in as a friend who helps her cope with her loss. This is one of those films that reinforces the sense of hope that we all need, and to know that time and love heals all wounds. I recommend this movie to everyone... 4 out of 5 stars and it's on DVD as well.

I would like to thank all of you for you time and can't wait to tell you all what I thought of the animated version of the Doc Seuss classic Horton Hears a Who. So until next time enjoy the flix.

I just watched No Country. Holy moly, my surround sound was going CRAZY! What a great flick, the Coen Brothers are amazing. Fargo is one of my favorites.
