I'm sore. It's been four weeks since I started my journey on the sadistic Gold's Gym 12-Week Challenge, and I've been sore crabby ever since.

I've had some ups and downs over the past few minutes month, mainly dealing with food. It's challenging to eat healthy with constant temptations around. I can easily pass on "Doughnut Thursday" at work, but turning away from chips, salsa, beer and other salty snacks is not easy. It's also been hard to eat breakfast. My trainer told me I should eat within thirty minutes of waking up, but I'm just not in the mood for food at 3am because I'd rather be sleeping like normal people. One thing that has helped me keep on track is a food journal. I know if I have to write down what I eat, I usually don't want it that's a lie. It's helped curb some of my junk food habits. I read somewhere that Carrie Underwood swears by a food journal, and since she looks amazing, I'll listen to her tips I hate her tips.

I joined a boot camp called "Colleen's Group Challenge" at Gold's Gym, and it's been one of my favorite excruciating parts of the experience. Our group has a great time, despite the 800 lunges we are forced to do. I like the team aspect, which makes me motivated to push myself.

My trainer Mark is bossy great, too. He likes to make me do what I feel are several hundred lunges more than what's necessary to see results. When I tell him I don't really enjoy lunges, he doesn't have much sympathy and tells threatens me to do more. I'm glad I have him to keep me on track another lie, especially when I'd rather curl up on my sofa after a long day at the station.

I need to continue to work on healthy eating habits. If you have tips, please keep them to yourself let me know. So far my efforts have paid off - I've lost almost 9 total inches and a few pounds. I'm still not in my favorite pair of jeans, but I know I'll get there soon eventually.

    Funny! Lunges are the worst.

Great job! This was hilarious, and I totally know how you feel! I've seen you lunging it up a couple of times at Golds and you're always smiling, which I'm sure helps the other member of your group :)

Keep up the good work, Lauren! My favorite tip is to eat all the carbs you want, even late at night. It seems to work for me.
