Gone Folfing

The sport has been around since the 70’s, but I’m just now finding out about it. Plus, it’s a growing trend in the Grand Valley. It’s golf, but you can leave your clubs at home.

I recently played disc golf for the first time, and, well, I’m bad at it.

However, it’s a ton of fun, and it’s been catching on in the Grand Valley. There are two courses in Grand Junction, one in Palisade, and one that recently opened in Fruita. The rules of the game are almost identical to that of traditional golf, but the big difference is that the discs are much less expensive than clubs. And, you don’t have to pay a fee or schedule a tee time to play anywhere locally. Check out the Grand Valley Disc Golf Club website for more information: http://www.gvdiscgolf.org/

Check out the story we did about it here: http://www.nbc11news.com/home/headlines/47846807.html

So, have you ever played? Any tips for beginners?  Let me know, and happy folfing.
