GRAND JUNCTION - Mesa State defensive lineman Kurt Kissner was named lineman of the year by the Football Gazette. Kissner was also named to the All-Ameria first team on defense.

Kissner wasn't the only Mavericks recognized. Safety Brandon Charles and place kicker Jared Keating were honorable mentions.
