GRAND JUNCTION - Amy Kame wasn't the leading scorer for the Central Lady Warriors on Saturday night, but her impact was felt regardless. Central handed Grandview a 63-57 loss in the second round of the 5A girls playoffs, as Kame returned to action after missing three games with a stress fracture in her right leg.
"It felt really good to go out there and play with my team," Kame said after the win. "Seeing them step up when I was gone was nice but it was good to be back out there.
The ever steady Alaina Brennan paced the way for the Warriors with 18 points. Central also got big shots down the strech from Karen Hayter, one of the Warriors who have stepped up in Kame's absence.
"Amy's our leading scorer and we have to have her, but having other people step up definitely helps us win games because Amy can't do everything," said Hayter.
Kame finished with 13. The Warriors will play the winner of Saturday's Highlands Ranch/Loveland game on Thursday, March 6th.
