The Fruita Monument Wildcats and the Central Warriors have been selected to play in the 5A football state playoffs this weekend.

The Wildcats (4-5) have the 28th seed and will face the Columbine Rebels (fifth seed) on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 at Columbine High School. Columbine has a 8-1 record so far this season.

The Warriors (5-4) got the 23rd seed and will take on number 10 Chaparral (7-2) on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Chaparral High School.

In 1A football the Hotchkiss Bulldogs will host their opening round opponent on Saturday afternoon at 1:00. The Bulldogs (8-1) are the fourth seed and take on #13 Holyoke (6-3).

The Paonia Eagles (6-3) will be on the road for the opening round of the 1A playoffs. The Eagles will visit #7 Lyons (7-2) on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
