Warriors edged in district finals, qualify for regionals

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - (KKCO) The Warriors lost a heartbreaker in Game 5 of the District 6 finals on Saturday at Central High School.

Central (21-2) cruised through opening round play, but met its match against Doherty. The Spartans beat the Warriors 17-15 in the fifth and final game of the championship match.

Both teams qualified for regional play. Central was given the #9 seed in the 16-team tournament and will play in Region A at Ponderosa this weekend. Doherty will travel to Chatfield for Region C as the Spartans are seeded #6.
