GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- The Grand Junction Tigers dropped a double-header against Fountain Fort Carson on Saturday afternoon. The boys team (6-4) lost 71-35, while the girls team (6-4) fell 55-52. Jamie Derrieux scored 20 points for the Lady Tigers in the loss.
Both teams return to the hardwood on Tuesday for a double-header matchup with Moffat County at Grand Junction High School.
The Fruita Monument boys (5-8) won a thriller in overtime 63-55 over the Heritage Eagles. T.J. Pollack had 18 points for the Wildcats. The Fruita girls (6-6) fell 50-46 to the Rock Canyon Jaguars.
Both teams will host Grand Junction Central on Friday night at Fruita Monument High School.
The Palisade Bulldogs boys team (4-5) fell to Glenwood Springs 42-31 in Glenwood on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs girls team (0-9) dropped their game to the Demons 45-38. Olevia Shafer had 16 points for Palisade.
The boys team hosts Aspen on Tuesday night, while the girls team hosts Moffat County on Saturday night.
The Central Warriors (8-3) won their final game at the Regis tournament, defeating Montbello 71-49 on Saturday evening. Amy Kame led the way with 23 points and Taylor Else added 21 for the Warriors. Central travels to Fruita Monument on Friday to take on the Wildcats.
