A sophomore leads the Wildcats past the Warriors

FRUITA, Colo. - (KKCO) Fruita Monument sophomore Drew Bridges scored 21 points, blocked five shots and pulled down seven rebounds in the Wildcats 59-40 win over the Central Warriors on Friday night.

The Wildcats built a 20 point lead and held Central to only one field goal in the first half of their Southwestern League opener. The Wildcats led 32-12 at the break.

The Warriors leading scorer this season, Vandon Sanchez, was held to zero points in the loss. Josh Wells led the Warriors with 13 points.

Fruita Monument's (6-8) next game won't be until next Friday night when they host the Durango Demons.

Central (5-8) will be back on the court on Tuesday night against the Delta Panthers on the road.
