GRAND JUNCTION - The Central Warriors scored two touchdowns in the final minutes of the game to come from behind and beat the Fruita Monument Wildcats on Homecoming night 17-14.
The Wildcats scored on the first play from scrimmage when Cody Bell took off on a 61 yard touchdown run and an early 7-0 lead.
The Warriors didn't score until the third quarter when Jeff Krizman kicked a 36 yard field goal to cut the lead to 7-3.
In the fourth quarter Clay Kame capped off a three play, 93 yard drive with a one yard keeper to give Central the lead for good 10-3.
Central's next game is against Rifle on Thursday, September 27 at 7:00 p.m. at Stocker Stadium.
The Wildcats will be at Durango on Friday, September 28 at 7:00 p.m.
