GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - In November of 2012, Central High School grad Andrew Yates was said to be one of the top three unsigned fighters in the world according to Spike TV. Now, one fact has changed, he's no longer unsigned.
The 24-year-old signed a contract with the World Series of Fighting Monday evening and has only been in the sport since the age of 18.
Now he looks forward to this new chapter of his career and proving he can be successful once again.
"I just kept going and going, and I never accepted no as an answer, and kept running and trying to fight anybody and everybody until it finally came true," said Yates. "They finally noticed that the long-haired blonde kid could actually hang it with himself in the cage."
