Central boys finish off undefeated week, girls fall to Cortez

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- Better late than never. The Central boys basketball team won its third straight game and second in the SWL on Saturday while the girls continued to struggle with a loss to Cortez.

The boys (4-16, 2-5) defeated the Cortez Panthers 44-36 to complete an undefeated 3-0 week. Zach Padilla led the Warriors with 14 points.

The girls (2-18, 0-7) continued their struggles with a 53-33 loss to the Panthers. Central closed the gap to two points in the third quarter, but they could not stop the three point shot from Cortez in the fourth.
