GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- Central came out swinging on day one of the Bill Fanning Classic with an 11-1 win over Woodland Park.
The Warriors scored eight runs off of two Panther pitchers in the first two innings, added one more in the fourth, and two more in the fifth to put the 10-run mercy rule into effect. Derek DiThomas and Alec Rupe both went 3-4; DiThomas scored three runs and drove in two.
Central will play Prairie View Friday morning at 10 a.m. at Canyon View Park.
