GJ Tiger boys, girls beat Central

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- The Grand Junction girls had no problem with Central, beating the Warriors 70-16 to cap off an SWL championship season. The GJHS boys team also picked up a win 62-46 over Central to finish up the regular season.

Paula Lage had 21 points and Jamie Derrieux added 17 points for Grand Junction (16-7, 9-1). The Tigers are likely to receive a first-round bye and home game in the 5A girls playoffs. Seedings will be determined on Sunday.

Tyler Winder made the most of his senior night, scoring 22 points to help the Tigers (17-6, 8-2) to their 12th straight win over teams not named "Fruita Monument".
