GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. The Central Warriors baseball team can sometimes be overlooked, but this season they're giving the Grand Valley a reason to take a second glance.

Central, currently 7-2 overall, is banging on all cylinders this year, especially from the mound. Their pitching has been stellar, and as is often the case, that's where a successful team gets their strong start.

Tuesday afternoon will be their toughest test yet as they go on the road for a Southwestern League game against 4A's best - the 8-0 Montrose Indians.

The last two seasons the teams have split, and this year Central's leaders are ready to take it all.

"We had a big summer," said starting pitcher Michael Price. "The summer helped us a lot. We all played together and we kind of found out how we're going to play and how we're going to be good, and we're just confident in ourselves."

"We're going to have a good practice today," said pitcher Seth Krebill. "We know what we have to focus on. We know what we have to do. Michael's going to give us a great pitching performance tomorrow. We're going to be confident, and we know that we can do it, and there's no one that can stop us."

The game is set for Tuesday at 3:30 at Montrose High School.
