GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- Central's defense kept them close all game, but couldn't get a stop in the final two minutes. Fort Collins beat the Warriors 31-13 at Stocker Stadium on Friday, in a game that was much closer than the score indicates.
Taylor Sanchez started the scoring for CHS (0-3), finding Kyle Rowe for an 88-yard touchdown down the right side, tying the game at 7-7. Fort Collins then took a 17-7 lead into halftime. The Warriors cut the deficit to four when Sanchez found Rowe once again for a touchdown.
But with 1:30 to go, on third and long, Stephen Palmier picked up the first down, and more, running it in for the touchdown. The Lambkins added another score on an interception returned for a touchdown.
