HS SOCCER: Montrose stays unbeaten, FMHS tops CHS

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The Montrose Indians topped Grand Junction to remain undefeated on the season, and Fruita Monument came back to beat Central 4-2.

Montrose (9-0-2) edged the Tigers 3-2 at Canyon View Park. Alec Rose got the scoring started for the Indians with a goal in the first half. Grand Junction (0-7-2) is still searching for their first win of the year.

After an early season loss, Fruita Monument (4-7) got some revenge from the Warriors (6-5) with a comeback win. Central took a 2-1 lead just before the half, but Matt Emerson and Peter Martinez led the way in the second half. Emerson tied the game, and Martinez scored the final two goals to seal the win. Emerson and Martinez had two goals a piece for the Wildcats.
