Kitzman, Warriors top Wildcats

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- Fruita Monument managed two runs in the 4th, but Alex Kitzman shut them down from there, pitching the Warriors to an 8-2 win at Suplizio Field on Tuesday night.

Drew Bridges gave the Wildcats a 1-0 lead in the 4th inning with a towering solo home run which landed at the very top of the left field bleachers. They added a 2nd run when Even McDermott plated Dallin Wright with an RBI double.

Central (10-3, 1-1) answered in the bottom of the 5th, scoring four runs. Aaron Reece had an RBI single, and Tanner Reid scored on an errant throw to tie the game at two. The Warriors added four more runs in the bottom of the sixth, led by a 2-run triple by Reid.

Fruita Monument (9-4, 3-1) loaded the bases in the 7th, but couldn't rally.
