FRUITA, Colo. (KKCO) -- Southwestern League play opens up on Friday night with a rivalry game at Stocker Stadium between Fruita Monument and Central.

The Wildcats (1-3) are coming off a 41-7 loss to No. 8 Regis Jesuit. All three of their losses have come against ranked teams.

Last season when the Wildcats and Warriors met, Central led 14-13 in the fourth quarter before Zach Thorpe hooked up with Martin Zupan for the game winning score. It led to a second place finish for the Wildcats and a post-season berth.
