GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The Fruita Wildcats haven't been able to play in front of their home crowd in over two weeks. But when they hosted Central on Friday night, they made it count.
Entering the girls game, the Wildcats had won as many as they had lost in league play thus far. Meanwhile, the Central Warriors were trying to gain back ground toward the .500 mark. After the first half of play, the Warriors only trailed by a field goal. Fruita, however, wasn't going to disappoint their cheering fans. The Wildcats finished with a 10-point victory over the visiting Warriors, 43-33. The Wildcats and Warriors now sit 3rd and 5th in the Southwestern League, respectively.
The men's action was much more of a lopsided effort. The Warriors showed up to Friday's game without a win on the season yet, and the Wildcats kept it that way. Drew Bridges nailed down 17-points in the first half alone as Fruita improves its win streak within league play to 25. 60-33 was the final.
