High school students host Holiday Heroes Drive

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - High school students are hosting an event to make the holiday season a bit easier for area families.

A variety of clothing, toys and toiletries are currently being collected by students in the Central High School Service Learning program. Anyone interested in these items can arrive at Central High School on December 20, 2011. Doors are open from 4:00 P.M. until 5:30 P.M. for CHS students and 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. for the community.

    I think that is a great idea to let students of need have a chance to find something they lack, while still offering it to the community a few minutes after. That gives them a chance of first priority to find something they might have had need of for a long time, that they otherwise might not have had the chance to find.
