GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - A new kind of high school has made its way to Grand Junction from the Front Range.

The GOAL Academy is an online alternative to conventional high schools, where students can make their own hours and even customize their course schedule. Students can earn an accredited Colorado high school diploma in a small class setting and the best part, it's free.

"A lot of the other private organizations have a high student to teacher ratio and they work within a defined time frame. Our students work 25 to one with the teachers and the teachers' hours are flexible enough to accommodate the students' needs," says lead instructor Paul Valdez.

Enrollment for the GOAL Academy is open to any student between the ages of 14 and 21. Students can visit their drop-in enrollment location at Mesa Mall and enrollment runs through the end of the month.
