GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - One local charter school will be posting their latest test score on the fridge for everyone to see.

The Department of Education recently visited Grand Junction to evaluate Caprock Academy, one of the few charter schools on the Western Slope.

Officials evaluated all aspects of the three year old school and when all was said and done, the Academy finished at the top of its class.

One of the Colorado Department of Education’s recommendations to the school was to plan better for continued growth.

As the grandfather of a very capable Caprock student, I can personally attest to its culture of caring, of support, of creating an atmosphere that promotes a love of learning and instills the values necessary for students to pursue excellence.
