DENVER (KKCO) - A bill that would allow legislators to increase taxes to fund education is moving forward.
The Colorado house Education Committee OK’d the school funding measure on Monday with an eight to four vote.
The bill would give the legislature approval to raise taxes as needed to pay for preschool through higher education.
Since it’s a referred measure, it needs the support of two-thirds of lawmakers to pass.
It now moves to the House floor.
