GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Kids who eat breakfast do better in school, which is why six District 51 schools are offering free breakfast to all of their students.

Regardless of their free or reduced lunch status, students will get a free breakfast at Clifton, Chipeta, Dos Rios, Nisley and Rocky Mountain Elementary Schools as well as the Dual Immersion Academy.

District 51 officials are hoping the free food will help out all kids, but say parents have to encourage their kids to take advantage of the program for it to work.
