Graduation season kicks off Sunday at Stoker

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – There are a lot of parties planned for this weekend as Mesa State students prepare to graduate.

The Commencement is Sunday. More than 1,200 students will walk on Sunday. All together, they’ve earned more 1,280 degrees.

Graduation starts at 8:30 a.m. Sunday at Stoker Stadium. But the stadium is about to get a big workout as high school graduations follow in the coming weeks.

The first round of graduations is next Monday, May 16. Central High School will walk at 8:30 a.m., Palisade will walk at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, Grand Junction will take the stage at 8:30 a.m. and Fruita will graduate at 7 p.m.

Gateway’s graduation is the May 19 at the Community Center, and R-5 students will graduate at 9:30 a.m. May 20 in Brownson Arena on the MSC Campus.
