MESA COUNTY. Colo. (KKCO)_A new grant is opening up District 51's Summer Food Program to parents as well.

Thanks to the funds from Hunger Free Colorado, parents and guardians who bring children to any of the seven sites throughout the Valley can eat free too.

The program serves up breakfast and lunch Monday-Friday and will run through July 22.

The District says it's important for adults to model good eating habits for children.

Seven District 51 schools will host the program.

Breakfast and lunch sites are Dos Rios Elementary, Fruitvale Elementary, Rocky Mountain Elementary and dual Immersion Academy. The sites are open Monday through Thursday from 8 to 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Lunch only sites are Bookcliff and Orchard Mesa Middle Schools and Chipeta Elementary School. Theses sites are open Monday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
