GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - The cold and damp weather didn’t keep the crowds from enjoying a parade Saturday afternoon.
People of all ages lined the streets and gathered beads from floats in this year’s Mardi Gras-themed Lions Club Parade.
Even with the unpleasant weather, everyone seemed to make the most of it.
First Year Club Member Joan Levy says, “I just think the Lions Club is great for this community in terms of what they give back and getting dressed up and getting out on a cold day is just part of it.”
The fun didn’t end with the Parade. The Lions Club hosted its 80th Annual Carnival Saturday night with games and more than $30,000 in prizes. Thousands of people packed the Convention Center to take part in the festivities.
The money made through the Carnival and Parade has helped the Lions Club put more than $4 million back into our community and fund nearly 300 projects.
